MoManufacturingWINs is a statewide training network announced in September 2012 that is connecting Missourians with the training they need to work for modern manufacturers.
A nine-member consortium of public two-year colleges–listed below–is collaborating to implement a rigorous certification training model endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
The program enables students to earn industry-recognized credentials that validate students’ mastery of skills in specific areas of manufacturing.
The Missouri Community College Association acts as program coordinator for MoManufacturingWINs, while St. Louis Community College acts as lead member. Read the Technical Proposal for details.

The Industrial Maintenance career pathway comprises seven occupations: Maintenance & Reliability Technician, Commercial & Industrial Electrician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Commercial and Industrial Machinery Mechanic, Fluid Power Mechanic & Technician, Fluid Power Conductor & Connector and Control System Technician. Employees in these occupations install, maintain, adjust, test, and repair industrial production machinery, electrical wiring, industrial regulating and controlling devices like safety valves; assemble, rebuild or modify industrial engines, turbines, motors, batteries and computers; and install and maintain industrial hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
The Machining career pathway comprises five occupations: CNC Programmer, CNC Machine Tool Operator, Automation/Control Technician, Drafting Designer, and Precision Machinist. Employees in these occupations develop programs in the language of the machine controller to guide processing of metal or plastic parts by automatic machine tools and equipment; revise programs to eliminate errors and retest for results; build, install, test, and maintain robotic equipment and related automated production systems; prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices with necessary engineering information such as dimensions and fastening methods; and set up and operate machine tools, including computer-controlled machines or robots, to produce precision parts and instruments.
Transportation & Logistics
The Transportation and Logistics career pathway comprises two occupations: Logistics Associates and Production and Logistics Technicians. Employees in these occupations move freight, stock, and other materials according to work orders and production sheets, operate industrial trucks and forklifts to move material in a warehouse to ensure timely and complete delivery, receive and store materials from a stock room, keep records and compile stock reports, expedite and route cargo and freight shipments at major transportation hubs, coordinate and expedite the flow of material and work within an organization according to a production schedule, review production and shipment schedules, and determine work progress.
The Production career pathway comprises four occupations: Production Operator, Production Technician, Industrial Engineering Technician, and Mechanical Engineering Technician. Employees in these occupations may set up, tend and operate machines that mix, slice, crush or grind material on a production line, drill, bore and mill metal and plastic parts, create and control chemical reactions in industrial processing, operate multiple machine tools and robots, or engage in various other manufacturing production activities. Employees may also set up, test and adjust manufacturing machinery by electric, hydraulic or computer technologies in accordance with good manufacturing processes, apply engineering principles to industrial layout and manufacturing production problems, or modify, develop, test and calibrate machinery.
The Welding career pathway includes Precision Machinist. Employees in this occupation set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments, fabricate and modify parts to repair machines, and maintain industrial machines.
