New announcement on MoManufacturingWINs! http://governor.mo.gov/newsroom/2012/Missouri_community_colleges_to_invest_15_million_in_modern_manufacturing_training
MoManufacturingWINs is a statewide training network announced in Sept. 2012 that will create opportunities for Missourians to obtain the training
they need to work in modern manufacturing shops. A nine-member consortium of public two-year colleges will collaborate to implement a rigorous certification training model endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). The program will enable students to earn industry-recognized credentials that validate students’ mastery of skills in specific areas of manufacturing.
The Missouri Community College Association will act as program coordinator for MoManufacturingWINs. The nine colleges that will participate in the statewide consortium are East Central College (Union), Linn State Technical College (Linn), Metropolitan Community College (Kansas City), Mineral Area College (Park Hills), North Central Missouri College (Trenton), Ozarks Technical Community College (Springfield), State Fair Community College (Sedalia), St. Charles Community College, and St. Louis Community College. STLCC will act as lead member.
See this press release from MCCA and this one from Gov. Nixon’s Office for more information, as well as this website from STLCC. We will provide updates on MoManufacturingWINs, but contact MCCA with questions in the meanwhile.
