Scorecard Project Update – September 2016

September has been a busy month for the Scorecard project.   Several pieces of the project have been moving along, with different contractors and state IT groups assigned to different parts of the project.  Significant progress has been made, and these individual components are now coming together. Through MoSTEMWINs, North Central Missouri College chose to offer a Certified Production Technician program, a manufacturing certificate and the UP program, which is designed to assist students with low math skills. Course Matrix Crosswalk project launches

At last month’s grants retreat, Dr. Janice Aanenson from CAEL, officially kicked off the launch of the Missouri Credit for Prior Learning crosswalk project, which will ultimately develop a statewide credit for prior learning course matrix crosswalk to national standards. Through the project, CAEL will guide Missouri’s colleges through a process that will define standards and procedures for aligning course outcomes with those developed and recognized by key industries. Student upgrades her skills through MoSTEMWINs Ti’eara Monroe’s job as a home-health certified nursing assistant is challenging work, and her 12-hour shifts — evenings, overnights and weekends — aren’t on a set schedule. Moberly’s MoSTEMWINs program goes mobile

Moberly's MoSTEMWINs program goes mobile Moberly Area Community College’s new mobile lab will increase accessibility to the college’s mechatronics program while saving money on costly equipment. While industries in the communities of four of the other MACC sites have expressed interest in technicians trained in the mechatronics program, the communities are too small to support a full program.
