ECC Dedicates Robert E. Hansen Hall

Robert E. Hansen, a charter member of the East Central College board of trustees and a man instrumental in the growth of the college, was honored Thursday, September 18, with the auditorium and classroom buildings on the Union campus named in his honor. Memorial Service August 16 for Former ECC President Dale Gibson

Dr. Dale Gibson, president of East Central College in the 1990s, died Saturday, August 9, following a brief illness.  He was 81.   A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 16, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Washington, Missouri.   “The East Central College community mourns the loss of Dr. Gibson, and we express our sympathy to his wife and family at this difficult time,” stated ECC President Jon Bauer. “Dr. Gibson was the first president for whom I worked, and over ... ECC President Agrees to Contract Extension

East Central College trustees voted unanimously to award a two-year contract extension to College President Dr. Jon Bauer.  The new contract, approved following an executive session at the board’s July 14 meeting, will run through June 30, 2017. Bauer is starting the final year of a three-year contract he signed when he became ECC president July 1, 2012. ECC Athletes Claim Academic Award for Fifth Straight Year

For the fifth consecutive year, the East Central College Athletic Department has won the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference Academic Award. Dr. Jay Mehrhoff, athletic director at ECC, said student athletes had an overall grade point average of 2.97.  That mark allows the Falcons to retain the Harold Oetting Award which is presented each year to the conference school with the highest overall GPA attained by student athletes. “This streak is a testament to the importance the entire college and athletic department places ... ECC Names Allen VP of Student Development

East Central College has named Shelli Allen vice president of student development.  Allen will begin working at ECC July 14.  She replaces Ina “Cookie” Hays who retired June 30 after 41 years at the college. Since 1996 Allen has held a number of positions with the Metropolitan Community College system in Kansas City, Missouri.  For the past eight years she has served as dean of student development and enrollment management at MCC’s Maple Woods campus.  Prior to accepting that position she was at ...
